Ambitious

UX/UI Designer

Hi, my name is Alexander Grövnes
I'm a UX/UI Designer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interaction Design. Before pursuing my career in UX, I studied electrical engineering at Lunds University. During my studies, I got to experience firsthand how complex and advanced systems can be. I was amazed by the possibilities and what I had learned but I also realized that something was missing. I wanted to engage with my natural interest in psychology and human behavior and use my skills; compassion, patience, and empathic ability in another profession where technology and user experience interweave.

My ability to empathize with the pain points, goals, and desires has proven beneficial to users, clients, and colleagues. I tend to observe, learn, and adapt to my surroundings. I thrive in creative environments and I value trust, honesty, and team spirit.

My professional skill set includes but is not limited to Interaction Design, UX research, UI design, Service Design, Graphic Design,  Art direction, and Web design.

Why UX?

Growing up, I was always drawn to creating things. I spent hours learning Illustrator, After Effects, video editing programs, and even CAD in High School, creating different projects and experimenting, and eventually designing websites and mobile UI:s.

For a long time, I was torn between working with people or technology until I realized that I could do both. Creating meaningful experiences, interacting with users, and still being creative, is in my opinion the best of both worlds.

I care deeply for intriguing and impressionable experiences

In my work, I like to focus on visual design, user-driven, and interactive experiences. I always seek to find the perfect balance between user needs and playful experiences, and strongly believe in designing with purpose.

Below you'll find videos of what you can experience on the first page of my portfolio. These prototypes challenge the conventional way of typing on computers and bring with them fun and impressionable new experiences when typing.

Digging deep into how a particular interaction can influence and give the user a memorable experience is what intrigues me.

A FEW FACTS ABOUT ME
